TEMPLESTAY ZENSŌ is a “temple stay” accommodation, where a historic temple, Horyu-ji—boasting a history of about 700 years in Chiyoda Town, Gunma Prefecture—has been renovated into a standalone guest house. At this temple, we want everyone to feel comfortable visiting without being too formal, while still respecting the austere atmosphere and traditional discipline of the temple. We hope to provide guests with opportunities to realize the importance of everyday life and give a push to their backs.
The house comes with modern appliances and conveniences, including wi-fi service. Guests can also enjoy an exclusive nighttime light-up of the temple grounds.
Environment
You can feel the Japanese countryside scenery, located just 70 km away from the city center. The location is accessible via taxi: approximately 20 minutes from Kawamata Station (Tobu Isesaki Line) or about 10 minutes from Higashi-Koizumi Station (Tobu Koizumi Line). Supermarkets, restaurants, and convenience stores are located nearby, convenient for long-term stays.

Japanese accommodation at its best. Immediate and helpful replies to messages. A very stylish and typical Japanese place next to a temple. Plenty of room, clean, well equipped with everything you might need during your stay. If you’re looking for a place for an extended time for some peace and quiet or just a short stay, both works. The room or building is very clean and modernised Japanese style with tatami mats in the room. Dining area can be walked with shoes or slippers provided in the room.

Very peaceful area and good for studying and barbecuing. Pizza oven is also there to make your own pizza. Only thing is that there is no bathtub and only shower room. Great retreat place get your self together in peaceful environment.
